The Covid-19 pandemic has hit food businesses hard. However, the sector has shown great resilience, with many businesses adapting their operations to continue to serve customers in new and innovative ways.
Customers are returning but research shows that they’re still cautious about dining outside of their homes again. In addition to social distancing, they want reassurance that food businesses are complying with food hygiene and safety standards.

We will be offering support and guidance:
- to existing food businesses that are reopening, with information and tools to keep their food hygiene management and training up-to-date
- to businesses who have diversified or are considering it, so they know exactly what they need to have in place for their new methods of operation.
- for new food businesses, where we will raise awareness of the importance and benefits of business registration to comply with the law.
