On Monday, 20th May, we hosted a workshop for aspiring candidates of the prestigious Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year Competition at our NFFF training academy. The event aimed to equip young fish friers with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the competition, and it certainly delivered.
The day featured an inspiring talk with Jamie Russo, this year’s winner of the competition. Jamie shared his journey, offering invaluable tips and insights into what it takes to stand out in this highly competitive category. His first-hand experience and practical advice gave attendees a clear understanding of the dedication and innovation required to win.
The workshop shifted to a dynamic practical session, which was a highlight of the day. Participants donned their aprons and, under the expert guidance of Mark Drummond at the NFFF Training Academy, perfected their fish frying skills.
As the day concluded, it was evident that the workshop had succeeded in preparing candidates for the upcoming competition. With new-found skills, experience, and the inspiring words of Jamie Russo to motivate them, these young fish friers are now undoubtedly better equipped to enter the award.
We look forward to seeing their progress and wish them all the best in their pursuit of being Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year. The future of fish frying looks bright with such dedicated and passionate young talents on the horizon.
Thank you to Mark Drummond, Jamie Russo, Ship Deck and Drywite for making this day possible.
