Covid mitigations post 19 July: guidance for hospitality

July 15, 2021

Following the Government announcement on the further easing of restrictions on July 19th, further guidance has now been published advising hospitality businesses on measures that they should implement to continue to operate safely.

Although face coverings and social distancing will no longer be required by law, the Government recommends that face coverings are still worn in crowded, enclosed spaces, and that employers should support workers who choose to continue to wear face coverings.

Businesses are also required to keep up to date health and safety risk assessments that include the risks of covid-19, and take steps to continue to protect staff and customers by cleaning regularly, providing adequate ventilation, and requiring symptomatic staff to isolate. Business should also continue to support NHS Test and Trace by providing customers with a way to check in to venues.
