McWhinney’s Sausages is a family business which traces its roots back to a butcher’s shop 1898 and the McWhinney family have been making the same high quality Irish Pork Sausages ever since. Current Managing Director Kevin McWhinney is the fifth generation of the family to faithfully produce the original secret recipe that has served the past generations so well and seen the business go from strength to strength. Kevin, a Master Butcher by trade, made the decision to focus on exclusively producing Pork Sausages following the untimely passing of his father in an aeroplane accident. Along with his wife Elaine, also a fully-qualified butcher, Kevin took the business from a local butcher’s shop to the nationally-recognised and award-winning quality brand that is known today.  

2023 saw the company celebrate its 125th anniversary with a national giveaway of more than £125,000 of sausage and chip meals. McWhinney’s Sausages Sales and Marketing has been deftly handled for the last 14 years by Ivan Bond, who retired from the company at the end of 2023 leaving sales in the hands of Scott McWhinney, the sixth generation of the family. Everyone at McWhinney’s, and no doubt many in the industry, will be forever grateful for Ivan’s hard work and dedication.
