JJ Foodservice has been announced as the National Wholesaler of the Year at the Grocer Gold Awards 2024, hosted by musician Myleene Klass and held at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall on July 2nd.

Competing against the UK’s largest convenience and foodservice wholesalers – Booker, Bestway, Bidfood, and Brakes – who collectively have a turnover of over £17 billion*, JJ Foodservice’s recognition underscores its commitment to quality and service.

During a year of rising costs, supply chain disruptions, and labour shortages, the company supported its restaurant customers by launching innovative own-brand products.

Notable launches included Tabaki Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Clean Choice cleaning products, and JJ’s Bagasse Packaging range, which debuted just in time for the UK’s single-use plastic ban.

These exceptional efforts resulted in JJ Foodservice additionally being named a finalist in the Own Brand Supplier of the Year category. This milestone marks the first time the wholesaler has been recognised for the strength of its own-brand range.

Elsewhere, JJ saw continued growth in its Advance Order range of fresh, premium buy-to-order goods, and judges praised the strategic acquisition of Gatelands, aimed at broadening offerings to Asian restaurants.

Kaan Hendekli, Chief Operating Officer, said, “We extend an enormous thank you to every member of the JJ family, as well as our loyal customers and supplier partners, for their continued support and dedication. We look forward to another exciting year ahead.”
