NFFF Regional Director for Scotland, Stuart Devine, recently had the pleasure of being part of an engaging and inspiring event, organised by none other than Jamie Russo, 2024 Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year. The day unfolded at the iconic Peterhead Fish Market, where attendees had the opportunity to delve into the heart of the seafood industry and witness the vibrant world of fish trading in action.

This remarkable event was attended by, Jeni Adamson of Seafood Scotland, and was proudly sponsored by Henry Colbecks. Also joining the event were three finalists from the Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year competition and two of the Top 10 finalists, along with other guests and NFFF members from across the UK.

The day began with an insightful tour of Peterhead Fish Market, offering a glimpse into the bustling trade and quality standards of the seafood industry. The group then visited GT Seafoods, where they explored the processes behind delivering top-quality seafood to the market. To round off the experience, everyone enjoyed a delightful lunch at the renowned Ashvale, known for its exceptional fish and chips.

Throughout the day, attendees had the privilege of hearing engaging presentations from key industry figures. Stuart Devine represented the NFFF, Jeni Adamson provided a Seafood Scotland perspective, Ross from The Fish Works shared his expertise, and Georgina from Henry Colbecks offered valuable insights into the sector.

A huge thank you goes to Jamie Russo for organizing this exceptional day and to everyone who contributed, including the sponsors, speakers, and attendees, for making it such a memorable and impactful event.
